Happy New Year!
Can you believe it's already 2005? I can't! This year sure has flown by. I'm so grateful to have had such a wonderful year. Hopefully 2005 will be even better!
Exciting news! Today's appointment revealed that I am now 2 cm dilated, 50% effaced, and at -2 station. Click here to learn more about what this means. So it looks like we have progressed even further! I am so excited. Besides that, everything else looked great. This time I saw Midwife Emma and I really like her, she was very sweet. She estimated that Tristyn will weigh in at 7lbs 14oz at birth. Mom went with me today to my appointment just in case they told me I needed to go to the hosptial. My next appointment is Wednesday, 1/12 @ noon and Josh will be going with me then...that is if we have to go to that appointment! Midwife Emma said that she hopes to see us before then...so who knows! Emma did say that since I have progressed so much she doesn't think that the big day will be too far away. So everyone say their prayers! Mom said that she is going to walk me to death so I go into labor! LOL!
I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years celebration! We didn't do much. Friday night we went over to Glenn & Beverly's house for hamburgers and french fries. Mom, Glenn, and Lamarr were also there. We had dinner and just hung around and talked. I was really uncomfortable because of my ever so big belly so we decided to go home early and get in bed, we didn't even stay awake to see the ball drop! Saturday morning we lounged around and ran some errands. That afternoon we went over to Mom's house because Glenn was down at the Hunting Lodge for the last day of deer season. We hung around and chit chatted while Mom made dinner. We had turkey loin, blackeyed peas, collard greens, mashed potatoes, and sweet cornbread. I believe that was the best meal I have had in a really long time! I ate until I couldn't move anymore! After dinner we stayed for a while and talked and then headed home. Sunday morning we got up and drove up to Pendergrass to help Lamarr install his new surround sound system. After that we went over to Melanie's house for lunch and stayed over there for most of the day. That night Rick & Melanie came over to our house to bring Josh a work bench and we ordered a pizza. On Monday Mom came over and helped out around the house for a couple of hours and then we went and had lunch at McAllister's Deli, home of the giant sized baked potatoes! Then we went to JoAnn Crafts in Duluth and picked out a pattern and fabric for a diaper bag that Mom is going to make for Tristyn. The fabric is so cute, one side of the diaper bag will be these little fairies and the other side is little mermaids...so adorable! We also picked out a pattern for a dog bed to go under Tristyn's crib, I think Mom is going to make it out of pink fleece. Should be adorable! Believe it or not I am thinking about learning how to sew! Looking at all of the stuff you can make and all of the different fabrics really made me want to learn. I think it could be a hobby that I could really become good at. Plus I could design my own stuff since I can't ever find things that I really like! I guess we'll have to see....
We don't have anything planned for this week...just hanging around the house. Josh was supposed to start back at Gainesville College tomorrow but that is a whole other story! I think he might be taking the semester off with me due an error on Georgia Perimeters part...but that's ok - I think it was meant to happen that way. I'm feeling a little crampy from the cervical exam so I think I'm going to go lay down for a little while. I'll update if anything exciting happens!
Keep us in your prayers ;)
