The day started off very early - 5am alarm going off. However I didn't peel my butt out of bed until nearly 5:45am, therefore getting a late start on the day. I hopped in the shower and got ready while Josh rounded up Tristyn and her bags and got everything put in the car. We piled in and headed towards MIL's which is about 30-45 minutes northeast of here. We dropped Tris off and I cried (I know I'm such a ham). I don't know why I was so emotional about leaving her. I guess it's just that we haven't been apart in so long. I can really tell that our Mother/Daughter relationship has strengthened incredibly over the last several months.
I dried it up on our way to Athens as the anticipation of the game grew stronger. We met Brad (BIL) on some street near the "projects" in Athens so he could instruct us where to park. We seriously parked in front of the "projects"! I was hesitant but they said that it was fine, just to leave our windows down so they didn't have to break the glass to steal anything - LOL. We hiked 2 miles with all of our tailgating gear (chairs, beer, food, etc) uphill, downhill, thru muddy grass, and snow 3 feet deep (okay just kidding about that part) until we finally reached our destination. I was in awe at how many people were there. It was a sea of tents, TV's, grills, and people poppin' the top at 8am! I settled in for the morning and met with all of our new tailgating buddies. We had an awesome time just tailgating. There was a ton of food and even more hospitality. We will definitely be back!

An hour before kick off (which was at 12:30) we headed towards the stadium amidst a swarm of red and white fans. Hubby and I had tickets on the opposite side of the stadium from Brad and Alea, so Alea and I quickly decided that we should sit together and leave the boys to fend for themselves. Us girls found our way to our seats (amazingly) and got comfortable before the kick off. Once I got in my seat I was really in awe. I could not believe how beautiful the stadium was...the sea of red and white before my eyes, endless blue sky with giant puffy white clouds that looked like marshmellows, and the continuous view of the beautiful campus. I-am-hooked. I love Athens. I love Sanford Stadium. I love the rush of the game and the feeling you get when you're sitting there looking at 90,000 people wearing red and white. I LOVE IT! I will be back.

The game was so intense. Surprisingly it was easier to follow the game while watching it in person than it is on television. I really need to start learning the plays and penalties though - I get so confused during all of that. Luckily there were a million fans behind and beside me that knew what was happening every step of the game and I could overhear everything they said. During the last 5 minutes of the game the entire stadium stood to cheer on the boys. The coolest part of the day was then the other side of the stadium would yell "Georgia" and then our side yelled "Bulldogs", all in unison. It was amazing!
Enough about the game - I'm sure you girls are totally bored by now with me going on and on. Just know that oneday when I am rich I will be a season ticket holder! LOL. It was the best day I've had in a long time. If you even remotely like football then I would highly suggest going to a college game...it's so much fun.
