After dinner we headed to my step-sisters condo in Helen and spent several hours chatting with them. Josh, Tristyn, and I headed home and had a frozen pizza for dinner and then jumped into bed. The day after Turkey Day Josh had to go into work so Tris and I met Aunt Ju and Uncle Jeremy for lunch at Chili's and then did some shopping at Target and Babies 'R' Us. After a couple hours of shopping we came back to our house to play a couple games of poker and then retired for the evening. Tasha came over but did not feel like playing so she sat and played on the computer. The next morning Josh and I got up and went grocery shopping and then cleaned house. We pulled out all of the Christmas decorations and started decorating the house. I had to take a break to make a macaroni and cheese casserole for my step-families Thanksgiving dinner, once that was baked we packed up the truck and headed to the gathering. The evening was filled with great conversation and to our surprise functional, well rounded, normal people! I have come to the conclusion that I am going to focus on my step-family as more of my real family from now on. Hopefully the wounds will be mended in the near future with my real extended family, but I am thankful to have my step-family around.

Tris & Cousin Payton
On Sunday Josh, Tristyn and I slept in really really really late and then woke up and made cheese omelets for breakfast. Afterwards we headed up north to a tree farm to cut down our first Christmas tree as a family. We took the tractor hayride to the field of 3 different kinds of trees and began the hunt for the perfect one. Tris was dressed warmly in her new fur boots and wrapped tightly in a blanket for the long adventure. We finally found our perfect tree and Josh got to work sawing it down. They loaded it onto the hayride and back to the car. We brought it home but didn't decorate it until last night. I'll post pictures later of the house :) The past couple of days I've just been so tired that I can't even think straight.

Helping pull out Christmas decorations!

Aw --- There has to be drama along the way! I love pics! I want to see some of those little pizza snatching reindeers you have!
Love the pics!
Sorry about the disfunctional family...I'm sure we all have a little bit of that.
Your Christmas sounds like it's starting off great! I can't wait to see pics of the house all decorated up and festive!
I think we all have some dysfunction. Anyone who says their family doesn't have any, is lying :)
Aren't the little ones just so much fun with the Christmas stuff? Can't wait to see her on the actual day :)
Yep, as sister says "We are all dysfunctional" (especially our family lol, but that's because of Beth!! lol)
And all I have to say about T-day is I would have given up the cooking to go to Golden Coral anyday!! I so miss that place!!!
wow ur baby is so adorable!
Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving (well, minus the dysfunctional family part!) Tristyn looks like she enjoyed that jello at Golden Corral!
You & Tristyn look so cute in that picture together!
Can't wait to see pics of your tree. I miss decorating our house this year (we're at my parents until after New Years.)
Your tree is soooo pretty. Next year, you will definitely have to take us with you or tell us how to get there because I want a real tree!
Thanks for dinner last night. We had a great time!
Everyone has some dysfunction here and there!
Love the pictures! I love Tris in her blue sweater, where did you get that???
Hey Taylor~ Thanks for all your nice comments on my blog! You're so sweet. You asked where I get all of Gabrielle's holiday outfits- I got her Halloween & Thanksgiving clothes & bibs at Carter's Outlet. They always have such cute stuff.
