our family on vacation ~ May 2007
Jackson is now 6 months old, half of a year! It saddens me when I look at him to know that he soon will be talking and walking like his big sister. My little baby is growing up so quickly and it is tearing me to pieces. I guess with the second child you realise how fast the baby time really does fly by. Even now I miss cradling him or rocking with him in the glider. He is growing so fast.

He had his 6 month appointment and was a hefty 16lbs 8oz and 27" long. He took all of his shots like a man but spent the remainder of the day being cranky and sleeping.

Jackson 6 months

Mommy & Jackson (5mo) ~ May 2007
Tristyn has been back and forth to the doctor about the fluid in her ears, it has been there now for 4 or 5 months. She had a hearing test done a few months ago and everything was fine so we're trying to figure out what is going on with her. She has been on nasal spray and allergy medication for the past several weeks. We'll return to the doctor on Friday to see how things are looking. If the fluid is still present we will probably see an ENT to consider having tubes put in. We have waited quite a while to take this next step because I really wanted to try all of our options before resorting to that. Since her speech and hearing haven't been affected I haven't been too concerned. She has also been on an inhaler and antibiotics...it's exhausting!

Jackson is now completely sitting unsupported, he actually has been for several weeks. He said "da-da" for the first time last week but has not said it since. He still enjoys jumping in his jumperoo and loves grabbing and biting my face. It melts my heart when he reaches out to grab my cheeks! He is such a sweet little boy, he rarely cries and smiles constantly. He is sincerely the happiest baby I have ever met.

After his June 4th appointment I started him on organic baby food. He didn't care for it too much so I began making homemade baby food and so far he has really enjoyed it. I made a bunch of apples, bananas, apple-banana and peach-banana. I haven't attempted veggies yet but am hoping to this weekend. I really enjoying making it and take pride in feeding him homemade. It really has been fun, I never thought I would do it.

And now for the most exciting news...
Tristyn is potty trained!
As of Tuesday, June 5th she has been using the big girl potty and doing quite well with it. In just the past week she has been very dedicated with going #2, as where before she was having accidents with that. Every now and then while she's playing she will start to go and then realise that she needs to go potty, but other than that she is doing extremely well. She doesn't even wear a pull-up at night because she holds it until the morning. We have a little potty in the back of the truck that stays there for outings. She does well with it also and enjoys telling me to "shut da door" so that she has some privacy. She now has Elmo* and Dora* panties that she takes much pride in wearing. Every time she goes potty she feels the need to call Yam (Gamaw) and let her know! It is too funny. Josh and I are so extremely proud of her but at the same time we're saddened that she's actually using the potty and is no longer our little baby in diapers.

Phew, I think that is all of the top news of the past month! I have so much I want to write but not nearly enough time. I plan on updating again this week, haha I know.

Your kiddos are so precious! We just found out that we are expecting in May!! I feel like I've been waiting for so long. Anyway, just wanted to say they are both precious and love Jackson's cheeks! :)
Oops, I mean the baby is due in February. I took the test in May. I should read before I hit publish! :)
Please do share that potty-training secret! Baby Girl is showing zero interest in wanting to use the potty. That's what we get for her walking so early, talking so darn good and being early in everything else. There HAD to be just one thing she wouldn't do for us on time, right???
I can't believe how fast all the kiddos are growing!!! So cute!
Oh my gosh, Jackson is sooooo adorable!!! He's very photogenic! That's awesome that he's sitting unsupported... Alex just can't sit still to stay upright for very long! We're so lucky to have happy, content & healthy little boys! Good for you for making homemade baby food.... no wonder you haven't been blogging lately!
Poor Tristyn with that fuid in her ears. I hope it clears up so that she doesn't have to get tubes put in. Congratulations to the BIG GIRL on being potty trained! WOOHOO!!! Please let us know your tips & tricks for potty training. We'll be starting with Gabrielle just as soon as we move & get settled.
