Summertime

After a few days of what felt like winter, it finally feels like summer again in Georgia. The kids are outside playing and I am sitting on the patio relaxing, what joy. The time has flown since the last time I updated and I feel horribly (like always) for not keeping up with the new developments in the children's lives. I have been so incredibly busy with school that I haven't had a minute to myself. Today I just submitted a 20 page paper that I worked on for days. Despite the hard work I am really enjoying the challenges I've been faced with returning to school. I have already registered for my summer classes and it looks like I will only have to take 9 hours in the to complete my AA, something I should have finished 5 years ago! After that I really don't know what lies ahead. I want to continue my education but I am not sure that time will allow me to attend classes to complete my BA. I want to attend North Georgia (not quite sure on a major yet) but with the hours Josh works and family living nearly an hour away I would not have anyone to watch the children while I am in class. I may have to hold off for another year or so until we move closer to family to get some help with the children.

The kids are growing like weeds. Tristyn is a constant talker, always asking questions like "what time is it?" or "what is for dinner tomorrow?", some of the things she says cracks me up. Thursday evening Mom brought over chicken, biscuits, greenbeans and mashed potatoes and gravy. Tristyn kept asking for more "grease" on her potatoes, hahaha. She has stayed well the past several months since I quit going to the gym and for that I am thankful. Everyday she continues to amaze me with the amount of help she provides with her brother and the house. She is always cleaning, sweeping (or at least trying to) and doing for her brother. Today she pulled a chair up to the sink so she could "do the dishes". She is still sucking her fingers and clinging to slip-slip, although we have been trying desperately to nix those habits. For a while she quit sucking on her fingers but has since gone back to doing so. She is going through a phase of loving to wear dresses and hairbows, to my amazement. After all these years that I've begged her to wear pretty bows, she's finally doing it on her own. She's at a point now where she asks for a bow in her hair, I'm loving it. She is already in a size 4T....

I never did finish this post, but I'm going to go ahead and put it up anyway.
