`Another year has come and gone, so hard to believe! Although I must say this year I very much anticipated the arrival of 2010, because it just means we are that much closer to meeting #3 in June. We rang in the new year here at home with the kids playing and running around yelling "Happy New Year!" They were more energetic than I was, as soon as the clock struck midnight I bolted for the bed. Josh and I were thankful for him being able to get home early enough to give me a midnight kiss ;)
Needless to say, our growing family is looking forward to a year filled with lots of surprises, including the arrival of our new addition, which is by far the most exciting adventure to come. We hope to take the kids to Disney during the spring for one last family vacation as four. Josh will continue working towards his Bachelor's Degree, which is so close he can almost taste it! We are all extremely proud of him for working so hard to provide for our family all while continuing his education to further his career. He continues to make excellent grades and surprise us all with his dedication to family, work and education. Along with the normal life routines we have started the year off by implementing quite a few new routines and outlooks on homelife. Jackson has officially transitioned into his big boy room and we have cleared the nursery, it is currently awaiting setup. Mommy seems to already be nesting in preparation for a third child and soaking up lots of knowledge from books and resource on how to raise three children. Our family is also looking forward to having Josh home on both Saturday and Sundays from now on. With now having Sundays off we will begin looking for our chuch home, something we all (even the kids) are very excited about. Just this month we are looking forward to my Dad and Tracye visiting from Florida and Tristyn's 5th birthday and cupcake decorating party. It's going to be a great year!
Yesterday morning was my 16 week prenatal checkup. Everything looked great, I've lost a few more pounds, the babies heartbeat sounded strong and we finished up the bloodwork for the triple screen test. Our 20 week ultrasound appointment is schedule for Josh's birthday on February 1st. Josh and I plan to go have a nice breakfast before the ultrasound and afterwards he will head to work. The pregnancy has been moving along just fine, still bothering with some slight nausea and extremely strong food adversions. Most times the only thing I can stand eating is a plain spicy chicken sandwich with lots of pickles from Wendy's...not exactly what I should be eating for sure. I am in love with OJ and blowpops as well. Other than that, there really isn't much I eat! This baby has definitely thrown my body for a loop, including my sleeping habits. I constantly have vivid dreams and awake in the middle of the night because of them. I have difficulty falling back asleep and therefore I am starting to become very tired during the day. This week has been extremely tiring for me as I haven't slept well for three nights in a row. I have begun to have strong growing pains over the past few days and my belly is extremely tender to the touch. Guess Baby #3 is going through a growth spurt, maybe that baby bump will start showing a little more now.
This past Sunday night we had a scare with Tristyn which resulted in our first family trip to the ER. After an extremely late bath she began coughing up small amounts of blood. I spent some time on the phone with a nurse from Children's Hospital who ended up contacting her on call Pediatrican who advised us to take her to the ER immediately. We arrived around 1:30am and waited for a few minutes before they took us back to ask a few questions and look over her. They did a chest xray which looked fine and sent her home with a diagnosis of a possible blood vessel rupture in her throat. With the exception of a 4am bedtime and still trying to recover from that, everything has been fine. It was a freak thing that scared the life out of me, I am so thankful our baby girl is okay.
Hopefully I will have some pictures to follow soon ;)
