Opps

So much for my blog, eh? I have really slacked in keeping up with the going-on's of this family, I am sure I will regret it....heck, I already do now, trying to remember what all we have done the past eight months! So let's try to do a little run thru for old times sake!

in April....
*Jake started pulling up on the stairs and trying to climb.

*Tristyn received a game ball at an away game against North Gwinnett. She played hard and really paid attention, she even got to play 3rd base for awhile during the game.

*We spent Easter once again at Hurricane Shoals park with Melanie's family. It was a beautiful day, everyone enjoyed the outside time together, sitting around under the pavillon catching up. I forgot to charge my camera, but got a few cute pictures of the group. The kids loved their Easter buckets. Jake got a giant box of goldfish, animal cookies, sippy & snack cups, and bath toys. Jackson got bubbles, a DVD, underwear (hehe, that silly rabbit!), cookies, glow sticks and pot with seeds to plant. Tristyn got the same, just a little different. Jake really enjoyed tearing apart his bucket! Jackson had an Easter egg hunt at preschool, Josh and I both got to go. He did good, but had a hard time finding the eggs with his name because there were several other Jackson's in his class.

*After Easter we took a day trip down to Callaway Gardens and Pine Mountain Zoo. I do not know if I will ever go back to Pine Mountain, that was quite an experience! We hit the place earlier, hoping it would not be too hot. You could smell the animals a mile away! We had to wait quite awhile for our rented van, there was no way the Expedition was being drove thru that park with all of the long horned/tongued animals. At first everyone besides Josh was a little scared, I was probably the most worried, envisioning one of the kids having their arms snapped off by a water buffalo. They were very stinky and more than anxious to stick their three foot tongues into your window, EW! At one point, Tris got in the front seat, an animal started heading her way, she freaked and tried to roll up the window but couldn't. She did not understand why she just couldn't push a button! Josh had to show her, then she rolled that sucker up as fast as it would go! I thought Josh was going to run off the road from laughing so hard. Overall it was a neat experience, but the zoo was quite run down and I was disappointed in the condition of the animals. We had packed a lunch and ate in in the back of the car before heading to Callaway. At the gardens we spent the day exploring, viewed an owl show (which was quite neat) took lots of pictures (much to everyone's dismay!) and just enjoyed the day of being together. The kids enjoyed the butterfly house, I think we would go back for that exhibit alone.

*During Spring Break Josh was off of work and we loved having him home, it was as if we had a "normal" life there for a week....so much for that!

*Both Jackson and Tris played ball with Buford this spring. Both did well, Tris was much more involved and determined to do well. I think Jackson is not old enough to really care to put forth the effort right now. In April, Jackson also received a game ball for several RBI's. He also received the nickname "pokey" aka "slug" and we determined he liked the attention of the crowd much more than hitting the ball! We ended the month by kicking off our friendship with a great bunch from our spring t-ball team. We all headed to Fish Tales for dinner and couldn't of had more fun.

May was extremely busy for us.
*We had a get together with the t-ball crew again, which lasted extremely late into the night! I think we had the most fun that night, lots of memories were made that we all still laugh about. I think in total we had 12 adults and 13 kids...the kids just ran around like crazies, played xbox kinect, made a giant mess of playdough and eventually all crashed! We vowed then to make it a monthly thing.

*A few more t-ball trips to dinner that month as well...our regular spot (Fish Tales) and mexican to name a few.

*Mother's Day weekend...Saturday we were at the ball park, it was a beautiful day to say the least. The we headed to Fish Tales (again!) to enjoy lunch on the lake and few Corona's. Sunday we relaxed at home, I sunned in the yard with a Shocktop while Josh did his manly duties around the house. We really just kicked back and relaxed, it was great.

*Later on in the week we headed to pick out and purchase the hardwood flooring for the living room, something I had wanted to way too long. Luckily we both easily agreed on the sample we had been drooling over for several months.

*We had the Dunn's over for an Italian dinner and play one night that week as well. The kids enjoyed having new buddies over to play. We tried making that a semi-monthly event, but that has not worked out too well due to our busy schedules.

*On May 12th Tris' team won the Buford Softball 6U CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Wow, we were so proud! She hit a triple off of the pitch, got lots of RBI's and just all around played like a champ! She even slept with her trophy that night.

*The following weekend we decided to make a last minute (as in deciding that morning I believe!) trip to Hilton Head Island to hang with the Price's. The trip there was quick, I drove a good portion because Josh was exhausted from a long night of work. We didn't make reservations before we left, there appeared to be plenty online. We had to take Willow with us, a total annoyance. Once we arrived at the hotel there were no rooms available! Fast forward a few hours and many tears later...we got a room at the LaQuinta, which those of you who know me well know that I am completely disgusted by the thought of even stepping foot near a place like that. That was a nightmare! We stayed out of the room as much as possible and it was only for one night. We didn't get to hit the beach on Saturday due to that dilemma and a sudden thunderstorm sprung up. We had dinner at Skull Creek Boathouse, which was more than perfect. We sat at picnic tables overlooking the water, had drinks and yummy seafood. That evening we headed to the Price's pool to let the kids take a dip. The next morning we loaded up and hit the beach, luckily it was dog friendly, so we took Willow with us. She was a little annoying at first, but finally fell asleep in the bottom of the stroller and left us alone. The beach was giant and packed with hard sand, so it was easy to roll the coolers and strollers out. The kids enjoyed looking for starfish, which was a really fun experience. Beth and I took the babies on a long walk, trying to get them to nap. We spent the majority of the day beachin' it up, then hit the outdoor showers to rinse/change everyone, then headed out for dinner and eventually hit the road. Overall it was a great weekend, but our last minute planning got the best of us. Next time we will know to at least book a NICE hotel in advance and find a place for the dog to stay.

*Later in the month Josh and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary, it was just a regular day with work and school, but we did enjoy a lunch at PFChang's beforehand. It is hard to believe we have already been married so long, even though at times it feels much longer. It has been a very blessed 7 years to say the least! I could ask for a better husband or father to our three children. God has blessed us both tremendously!

*Memorial Day weekend we visited the farm for some fishin' fun. On Sunday we headed over to the Stocks' for a t-ball group gathering...once again, a complete blast and we all stayed late into the night. Everyone in the group met at the same time, yet when we are all together it feels as if we are all old friends...a rarity to find friendships like that. We are very thankful for a new group of friends and the many fun kiddos that come with!

*Sometime during the month Jackson had his end of the year t-ball party at Johnny's pizza. The kids all got to make their own pizza to bring home. Coach Derrick presented the trophies with a great speech to go along with each. Of course all us parents enjoyed chatting and laughing. Unfortunately, Josh had to miss the event because he was at work. I tried to take lots of pictures for him.

*The first weekend in June we celebrated June birthdays at Melanie's. Jeremy and Ju were still in CT, so they did not make it, but everyone else was there. We grilled out (better yet known as watching Rick run around like a mad person killing flies and yelling at everyone for being too slow thru the door!) and caught up with the family.

*The second weekend in June we departed for a long awaited vacation to Cape San Blas with the Price family.
