Not much has gone on since our last appointment at the OBGYN on August 30th. The belly keeps growing and Tristyn keeps kicking! Our next appointment is on September 29th and I believe it is just a routine checkup.
This month has literally flown by! I cannot believe that next week we will be into October...it really amazes me. On 9/9 Josh surprised me with a beautiful diamond engagement ring (yes we do everything backwards!). I was totally shocked and overcome with excitement. It is just so pretty and I am so proud to wear it :) Our friends Jeremy & Nicole had a first birthday party for their son Gavin at the start of the month, that was really fun to pick out a gift for him! I went to the Yellow Daisy Festival with Marissa and got a bunch of great stuff for Tristyn's room. I got a handmade wooden butterfly for her wall, a sign for her door with her name on it, a light switch plate cover, and a couple of other odds and ends. Hurricane Ivan was here last week and left us without power for a little over 24 hours. Mom and I had to load up the fridge and freezer and take it to her work so that all of our food would not spoil. Glenn & Beverly were on vacation and we were taking care of their house during the storm; they had a massive pine tree fall and block their street and a maple fell in their front yard. Overall we did not see too much damage, just power outages and downed trees. We did have to cancel a camping trip that we had planned on going on with Josh's mom and her family. Josh & I are still trying to keep up with school. It seems like it gets harder everyday! I'm am staying on top of things for the most part but sometimes I tend to get a bit behind! Everything at the house is going well. Josh continues to obsess about the yard work! Next spring our yard should be the prettiest one in Island Pointe!
This Saturday 9/25 will officially be the 6 month mark. Wow, how time flies when you are having fun! That means only 3 more months to go! We still have to sign up for our child birth preparation class with "Womb to Grow, Inc." I think the classes start in November, I am exciting about attending them. We also have to take a tour of the hospital, I have no idea when we will do that! Last week I had to make some new purchases in the maternity clothing department! All of my stuff is just getting too small! I got 2 new pairs of jeans a couple of shirts...I'm eying a really nice semi-expensive pair of dark jeans that I hope to sneak and get next week ;) don't tell Josh! Hahaha! Tracye's friend Leslie is planning on coming over to the house during the first week of October to take a look at Tristyn's nursery. She is going to paint it and make it look beautiful! I can't wait! I hope it is finished in time for baby shower that Beverly is throwing for me on Sunday, October 24th. I would love for everyone to be able to see it. Marissa & Tasha are also throwing a shower for me, although the dates are still up in the air due to a little last minute hunting trip my mother has planned! Thanks Mom!
Josh & I are debating on whether or not to have a Halloween party on the weekend of Halloween. I think it would be a lot fun but we just have to make sure we have enough time!
Well...it is about lunch time so I am going to treat myself to an Arby's roast beef sandwich today! YAY! And then I have to come home to straighten up the house because Emily & Karla are coming over for tacos and birthday cake (Karla's 21st birthday was last week) around 6:00pm. Should be fun ;)
I'll post more when sometime new and exciting happens!
