I am happy to say that the little bundle of joy has finally arrived. Tristyn Alyssa was born on Monday, January 17th, 2005 at 8:55pm at Northside Hospital. She weighed in at 7lbs 6oz and was 21 inches long. She has a head full of brown hair and besides the nose she got from me she looks exactly like her Daddy! I was in labor for seemed like a short 12 hours and everything went very well. We had many visitors and tons of support. It was an awesome experience.
We are both doing great and glad to be at home. Tristyn loves her two brothers Sarge and Trooper and they love her right back. Sarge is even very protective of her and doesn't like for strangers to come around...it's so funny. The boys like to lay by her when she's in her bouncy seat and when we go into her room they both stand guard under her crib.
Today we have been home from the hospital for exactly a week. Everything has gone so well! Tristyn is the best baby I have ever met in my life! She never cries except when she is hungry and she smiles all of the time. She is an extremely happy baby, I couldn't have asked for a sweeter child.
I have a had a lot of help since we have been home from the hospital. My Mom stayed the first two night and Josh's Mom stayed the next two nights. She's eating 2oz every two to three hours so night time feedings are not bad at all. I feed her and then she goes right back to sleep. Sometimes I lay her on my chest until she dozes off, actually last night I fell asleep with her on my chest and she stayed there for several hours. It was nice having her so close :)
Visitors were overwhelming the first couple of days we were home so we decided not to have anyone over this week so we can enjoy our new family. My Aunt Diantha is also in town from Florida to see Miss Tristyn so we have been spending a lot of time with her. Tonight we are having dinner with my side of the family over at Beverly and Glenn's house, I think we are doing spaghetti.
Yesterday during my first day at home alone with Tristyn I almost burnt down the house! Tristyn and I got up with Josh and made him a bagel and saw him off to work. After that I put a pot on the stove to sterilize nipples and the bottle rings...well I forgot about them and left them on the stove for over an hour! All of the water had boiled out of the pot and the smoke alarm started going crazy. I was so scared and upset at what I had done. I totally ruined like 5 nipples and 5 rings! So needless to say I had to go out and buy some more nipples yesterday! Geesh...
Hopefully I will get to write Tristyn's birth story today or tomorrow. I want to make sure I have all of the times / information right with Mom before I start writting it!
I hope everyone is doing well! E-mail me if you want to see pictures of our beautifuil little girl!
