Yes, I know, I am a horrible blogger. I have not even updated since Tristyn's 2 month check up at the Pediatrician. I feel extremely bad but our precious little daughter has been keeping me on my toes lately. Updates on the little Tris first...on March 17th, 2005 was her 2 month check up, she weighed in at 10lbs 1oz and was 23" long. She received her first round of shots which was extremely rough on me. I took her to the Dr. by myself so nobody was there to make sure I did not cry! Tristyn behaved very well and calmed down shortly after receiving 4 shots (two in each upper thigh). We were going to have lunch with Daddy but decided to head home so Tristy could get some rest. That evening she zonked out, the shots really took a toll on her little body. She woke up several times crying but then immediately fell back to sleep. I was very proud of how she handled everything.
Tristyn has changed so incredibly much since the last time I wrote. She is changing in every little way that I could not write everything down on paper if I tried! This past week and a half she has been extremely grouchy and irritable. She refuses to sleep at nap time and just wants to be held. Josh and I tried switching her over to a generic brand of soy formula to save a dime but found that it made her constipated and cranky. Since we have taken her off of that formula she has been doing fine but her sleep cycle is still messed up. She is sleeping wonderfully through the night but during the day she only wants to cat nap which leaves me little time to accomplish anything around the house. Hopefully this stage will blow over soon and she will get into her old naptime routine. Other than her recent crankiness things have been great! Tristyn is such a joy to be around, she is always smiling and laughing. One of her most favorite things to do is to talk to her Daddy. It gives me the most warm and fuzzy feeling inside to see them interacting with each other the way they do. You can tell that they have already started creating a very special bond with each other, and sadly (for me!) she is definitely a "Daddy's Little Girl". She coo's and talks all of the time now. If we lay her down on the floor by her self she will yell and talk to Trooper, they are great friends.
There is so much I love about Tristyn....I love the way she tries to fit her entire fist into her mouth - never giving up, I love how she smiles and coo's every time she wakes up in the morning, the way she sleeps with her butt sticking up in the air, the way she always spits up immediately after she has had a bath, I love the way she talks to her Daddy when he gets home from work, the way she cries and as soon as I walk into her sight she smiles, I especially love her scent, I love the way she stares at her little bug for hours, the way she makes me feel so loved, the way she screams and cries as soon as I am doing something productive, the way she kicks her leg when she is mad, I love her thick wispy brown hair and her dark blue eyes, I love her cute little smile, her long little legs, her little chub rolls, I love how she looks so peaceful when she is sleeping, but most of all I love her little personality. Of course this is not all I love about our daughter, just a little bit of the most special things ;)
Being a Mother has already been so rewarding and it has only been eleven weeks since Tristyn has been around. There are so many things that I look forward to teaching her, places I cannot wait to take her, and traditions that I am dying to start with her. Being a parent has to be the most incredibly special thing that anyone could ever do in life. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful child and husband, I love them both so dearly.
Besides my love of being a Mother, things have been going pretty well around here. Our Easter was pretty laid back. We woke up too late to go to church but went up to Melanie's for dinner. The day before Easter we had a big Easter Egg Hunt and cookout in our cul-de-sac which the neighborhood playgroup arranged. It was very fun, I got to meet a lot of the neighbors. A few of us stayed out in the cul-de-sac with our lounge chairs and coolers and ordered a few pizzas, we really had a great time.
Well, I need to clean up the house a little bit and then start cooking dinner before Josh gets home. I think we are planning on staying in for the evening. I hope all is well with everyone and I promise that I will update again before the week is over.
